1. How many times have you heard terrorist attack same place within short time, never ever.

2. Security is excellent after the attack, so you'll be safer than ever

I totally understand how cancelling or postponing a planned vacation for parents feel. But trust me it would be better to postpone it for now and you will feel relieved of any stress which you would face when your parents would be on vacation.
Though, no one among us can tell that there won't be any attacks in next 4 months or 6 months or the next year, but looking at the current situation please, do not plan any such visits that include Kashmir, at least for now.
Rest, it's definitely your choice.

I was planning to be in Pahalgam and Srinagar last week and continue to Ladakh. Due to NH44 closure we weren’t allowed to travel to Pahalgam and we stayed at Patnitop. Yesterday after hearing the horrible news we canceled the trip and decided to go to Manali/Shimla. I personally don’t think it’s worth taking a risk to go to Kashmir anymore.

I went to amarnath previous year, and I assure you there were a swarm of military personell and in that area it was more than anywhere and looking at this tragedy there will be more security.. If you think about it, the best time to go somewhere is around a week after the attack. 

1. Lightning won't strike the same place twice cause people will be expecting 
2. Might be cheaper since no one is going

Even before this happened, I have never been convinced about the safety there and I am what BJP cells will describe as left leaning liberals. I never agreed to my parents travelling in that areas. They are old now and should not be in such places where there is a high possibility if things going wrong. Not just terrorist attack but also the weather or mud slide.

The yatra is long and in case there is an attack, there shall be no place to hide. Pilgrims walk in the valley or climb hills with no natural features or tree cover, to hide. 

There are better places to spend money than giving it to people for whom you are just a cash cow.

During the yatra the security is always tightened to full extent but now after this attack either the yatra will be cancelled or the security will be tightened to extreme 24/7 surveillance if I should say so I would say it will be safe to visit
